Look at these picture. What pictures are they? Can you guess what we are going to talk about? Have you ever been to these parks? What did you do and see there? Why did you go there?
Do you think these parks are the same as parks like Disneyland? If not, what is the difference between them? What is a common park and what is a theme park?
Can you name some theme parks? What are their themes?
通过海口公园,金牛岭公园,万绿园图片,让学生猜本课学习内容;与学生谈论他们去过的公园;展示迪斯尼乐园图片,引导学生分析总结普通公园与主题公园的区别。
从学生熟悉的话题引入课题,激发学生的学习兴趣,为本节课的教学活动做好铺垫。

二、Theme parks略读
We are going to read about some other theme parks. Skim the text and find out :
What are the possible themes of a theme park?
Which theme parks are mentioned in the text?
接着让学生快速阅读,培养学生快速捕捉文章主要信息的能力, 以及略读的策略。
三、Theme parks查读
Read the text and answer questions.
The whole class are divided into three groups. Each group read about one theme park, then they collection information about other theme parks through talking to students from other groups. Then they fill in a chart with information about the three theme parks.

Cloze text: a summary of the text.
信息填空,要求学生分为三组,分别阅读三个主题公园的内容,然后通过交谈,收集另外两个主题公园的信息,同时根据所获信息填空。本步骤设计目的是培养学生寻找和整和信息的能力,把零散的感性认识上升到系统的认识。信息差活动的设计,目的在于提高学生交际活动的真实性,达到训练语言应用能力的目的。
完形填空是整篇文章的摘要,用以加深学生对课文内容的理解。
四、Theme parks读后讨论
If you have a chance to visit one of these parks, which one will you visit, why?
What does the title “Theme park--- fun and more than fun” mean?
阅读后讨论选择参观某一主题公园的的理由,目的是帮学生把所学知识上升到理性的认识,以批判眼光分析所获得的知识。
讨论标题的意义,帮助学生总结主题公园的意义所在:是娱乐,又不仅仅是娱乐。
五、Theme parks任务
Watch a video introducing a theme park.
Work in groups of four. Design and describe your own theme park.
看一段介绍某一主题公园的录象,给予学生多种感官的刺激,开拓他们的视野,激发他们的想象,为下一步的设计活动做准备。让学生通过小组合作、讨论,设计并描述自己的主题公园。老师及其它的同学对他们所设计的公园进行评价。不仅培养学生运用所学知识解决实际问题的能力,而且训练口头表达,笔头记录的能力,达到培养综合语言应用能力的目的。
六、Theme parks作业
Make a map of your theme park. Make a poster to advertise it.
为自己设计的主题公园画一幅地图,并制作一份海报作宣传。
